As I venture out into the bloggin' world, this is my very first "Linky Party".

Last Friday, our principal decided to celebrate the first day above freezing in almost two weeks; with a car pool line changed into "Summer in January" beach party!!! It was way COOL!!! It was great and I had one of those teacher moments when something just pops into your head and you run with it. Check out the pic below, I had my reading academy kiddos go outside with me we took a quick pic and then return to the class for our journal writing. The prompt was "Summer in January how does it feel............". The kids loved the idea and they turned out some outstanding work!

This year I have tried to teach important events as they happen we have had numerous learning moments, because of our willingness to teach on the spur of the moment!!! As everyone knows the Winter Olympics started this week with the opening ceremony making it's grand entrance tonight!!! So, number #3 goes to a really neat activity I did with my kiddos thanks to #teacherspayteachers, #brightconcepts4teachers, check out her blog at brightconcepts4teachers.blogspot.com.
"Skating to Gold"

This week I have celebrated my first follower on my blog, piggy42ndgrade.blogspot.com, my first five for Friday weekly Linky party, and my goal to blog more than once every couple of months, and lastly I hope to build my TPT store with more than just the first free download. Cross your fingers!

For my final five for Friday! #5 selfish something just for me! Beautiful nails for Valentine's Day and one of my favorite candy bars!

I have FOLLOWERS! Yea!

Hello,

As a kid I loved snow, as a new parent so many years ago snow storms took on a new life; still fun but different than when I was a kid. The joy of watching your sons and daughter make their first snowman, take their first trip down the hill (alone) scary exciting. Then as they got older they venture out alone and the worry, well not too much I was always spying on them from the window, shhhh don't tell; they say I am over protective. Now, in my teacher years I have gained a new excitement for "Snow", the thought of an unexpected day off of school is a sweet surprise. With that said this year we have now had our fair share of days looking ahead to making up some instructional time missed. Snow! Let's hold off until later this year "December" perhaps. :)

Today in room 3, my kiddos are so excited about the Olympic Games, we spent time watching a very neat video, showing how the venues were constructed, and learning how many people each venue could hold. We located Sochi on a world map, and completed a "Go for Gold Glyph", many thanks to BrightConcepts4Teacher and TPT.

Thanks, I had a great day and it was nice to be back in school I am looking forward to another great day tomorrow.

Lastly, I am so excited I am fairly new at blogging, I found out today I actually have a follower. Thank you, Thank you! I am going to try to make my post more frequent. Look for more excitement to come!
